She grew up in a musical family and played classical violin in her childhood and early teenage years. Later she
studied to become a linguist and graduated with a masters thesis in Marcel Proust from University of Copenhagen and California Institute of the Arts.
Upon releasing her critically acclaimed debut album Omonia, Gøttsche relocated from her hometown Copenhagen to Berlin. Here, she has in the past years been writing and recording her upcoming 2025 album To Do—a release which is in December and January being prepared by album 2 single releases on the label Duchess Box Records in December and January.
Line Gøttsche is a Danish singer-songwriter living in Berlin.
With her to do-list in the hand and her eyes fixed on the moon, Line, wearing equal amounts of frailty and courage, goes on a journey in a universe populated with speaking aloe veras, contemplating birds, dromedary observers and an ever- morphing “you”. What it sounds like? A blue and orange-juicy cloud of harmonic blossoms and captivating melodies.
The album, which is inspired by Brazilian pop from the 70’ies, American singersongwriter tradition, and jazz from the mid-20th century, is recorded in Berlin, Rio de Janeiro and Paris, and features contributions from musicians such as drummer Earl Harvin (Tindersticks, Air), keyboardist Vincent Taurelle (Air), guitarist Pedro Sá (Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa) and producer Thiago Nassif (Arto Lindsay).
