SUMMARY:Rita Braga - Cosmic Pop
DESCRIPTION:Rita Braga is a Portuguese singer\, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist\, known for her eclectic and whimsical style that blends elements of folk\, pop\, cabaret\, and experimental music. With a distinctive voice and a playful approach to songwriting\, she draws inspiration from a wide range of influences\, including vintage tunes\, world music\, and surreal storytelling. Her repertoire includes songs in more than 10 languages.\nAs a solo artist\, over the last 15 years she has toured extensively all over Europe and also in the US\, Brazil\, Australia and Japan. \nShe wrote and performed a sci-fi minimal ukulele pop operetta called A Quantic Dream. The show combined a dream sequence\, astrophysics\, burlesque\, animation and lighthearted existentialism. \nBraga graduated in Music Sciences\, and completed the MA Performance Making in London\, in 2019. She has also worked as a visual artist\, doing illustration and animation\, alongside composing soundtracks for animated shorts and TV commercials. \nHer numerous collaborations include work with Ana da Silva\, Felix Kubin and Ian Svenonius (The Make-Up). \n“Rita Braga is unique. Nobody blends early jazz and post-punk electronica with quite the same ease and impact as the Portuguese chanteuse\, and her unpredictable quirkiness never fails to shock\, surprise and delight. Rita’s music knows no frontier and her ability to combine convention and experimentation delivers a sound that manages to sound traditional and futuristic at the same time.” – At The Barrier \n„Rita Braga is the top torch singer working today; a titan\, an inspiration\, and a maverick of style. If Vegas had any class anymore she would be booked solid at The Sands through the next century.“ – Ian Svenonius (The Make-Up) \nEinlass ab 19:30 Uhr \nTickets gibt es für 9/12 Euro im VVK (exkl. VVK-Gebühren) bei Culton Ticket und TixforGigs\, AK: 12/15 Euro.\nVVK läuft bis 17:00 am Tag der Veranstaltung\, danach immer Restkartenverkauf an der AK! \nTickets online: https://www.tixforgigs.com/de-de/Location/1258/horns-erben-leipzig \n
